History
Bob Weber, Inc. (BWI) is a leading supplier of reconditioned digital prepress equipment. We are currently celebrating our 29th year of serving the graphics industry. During these 29 years, BWI has evolved from a one person “broker” operation to a diverse sales and marketing operation with 18 employees.
We have grown from a brokerage business into an international business organization that markets digital prepress equipment worldwide. The type of equipment we sell has evolved, from exclusively film-based systems (imagesetters) to a mix of computer-to-film and computer-to-plate (platesetters). We have also expanded our sales to include new products such as software Workflow RIPs, film and plate processors, densitometers, Imposition software, and parts for all generations of prepress equipment. We serve a diverse group of customers and dealers around the world, with the majority of equipment shipping outside the United States.
Our one room office in 1982 has grown to 40,000 square feet of facilities today. BWI maintains an inventory of prepress equipment with a cost in the range of $1.5 million dollars, all warehoused on-site. All equipment listed on our website is owned by BWI, and will be reconditioned by our in-house technicians and finishing department.
Over the years, our sales and technical staff have been expanded to meet the needs of our customers. Our staff now speaks Spanish and Russian fluently. We have grown from one technician, who is still with the company today, to 6 technicians who recondition equipment and provide technical support to our customers daily. Our production support/warehouse personnel work with the administrative staff to provide prompt customer service and delivery.
We have expanded our parts department over the years, and currently carry an inventory of over 7,000 parts available for imagesetters, platesetters, processors, scanners, and other equipment. Additionally, we have the ability to source parts we may not have on our shelves from a variety of vendors. We also offer new parts for older equipment such as lasers, power supplies and vacuum pumps at competitive prices.
In 1996, BWI developed its first website. Over the years it has grown into a state-of-the-art communication tool with over 1,000 pages of information, LiveChat feature, videos on platesetter reconditioning, a dealer section, a companion mobile site and more!
Bob Weber Inc. has become a resource for all your digital prepress equipment needs. We look forward to serving you now and in the future as our businesses grows!
