    • 1 month rental (30 days):
      • 15% of total equipment price plus freight, payable in advance
    • 3 month rental (90 days):
      • 10% of total equipment price for 3 months
      • Extendable for up to 9 months at 7% of total equipment price months
      • 3 months rent and freight payable in advance
    • Rental more than 1 year:
      • Terms available upon request
      • 50% of rental may be applied to purchase price after initial term is complete

Deposit to Hold Equipment

  • A 5% non-refundable deposit is required to hold equipment for 30 days. After this time, a buyer must choose one of the following options:
    • Purchase quoted equipment, with entire deposit applied to purchase.
    • Purchase other equipment of comparable value from BWI with entire deposit applied to purchase.
    • Extend option to purchase for another 30 days by remitting an additional 5% deposit.
    • Make no purchase and forfeit the deposit.

WARRANTY – Standard Reconditioned Equipment Warranty

A 6 months parts warranty comes standard with each piece of reconditioned equipment! (Warranty excludes labor.)
1 year warranty applies on laser diodes for Agfa Accento, Fuji Javelin/Dart, Heidelberg Topsetter, and Screen PT-Rs - see quote if applicable.

  • All equipment is thoroughly reconditioned before shipment and includes all operating manuals, software, cables, and cassettes as specified by the manufacturer. Some exceptions may occur, check your quotation.
  • BWI will not warrant thermal laser diodes or heads if a platesetter is used with Kodak Thermal Direct plates.
  • The warranty period begins 15 days after receipt of the equipment.
  • FREE technical support is offered via email or telephone by our on-staff technicians for all reconditioned equipment purchased from BWI.
  • Extended 6 month parts warranties are available for these select imagesetters – see your quotation for details:

WARRANTY – New Equipment

  • New equipment offered by BWI carries the manufacturer’s warranty. These warranties vary by manufacturer – see your quote for details or contact BWI for specific warranty information on any individual item.

Shipping

All equipment is reconditioned to order. Please note that lead time for shipment is typically 2-6 weeks, depending on our order backlog and the piece of equipment ordered. Shipment is scheduled upon completion of the refurb process. (link here to refurb page) We ship and support our equipment world-wide, and would be happy to include an estimate of the freight cost in your quote. Buyers can also make their own shipping arrangements if they prefer.

International Shipments

International shipments can be sent via ocean or air freight. Equipment must be crated for air freight. For ocean shipments, equipment can be palletized or crated, depending on whether it is will be a full or “less than” container shipment. For LCL shipments, equipment is crated. If the equipment will fill a full container, it can be palletized instead. Crating or palletizing cost will be specified on your quote.

Crating Process:
  • Equipment is shrink-wrapped in a light plastic to keep it clean and dust-free.
  • Next a layer of waterproof ocean wrap is applied around the equipment to prevent moisture from getting inside the equipment (ocean shipments only).
  • Equipment is placed inside a custom-built crate made of specially treated wood.
  • Foam is then sprayed around the equipment to prevent movement.
  • Finally, the crate is closed and ready for shipment. Click here to see a video of the BWI crating process.
Palletizing Process:
  • Equipment is shrink-wrapped in a layer of light plastic to keep it clean and dust-free.
  • Next a layer of waterproof vinyl is applied around the equipment to prevent moisture from getting into the equipment.
  • The equipment is secured to a pallet.
  • Finally, the palletized machines are then secured inside a container. Click here to see a video on containerizing a shipment.
Domestic Shipments

Domestic shipments are sent by common carrier or by electronic equipment padded moving vans – see your quote for details. Equipment that is shipped via common carrier is palletized or crated, per the processes listed above, depending on the piece of equipment and distance that it has to travel. For shipment via electronic moving van, the equipment is wrapped and the machines are shipped on the wheels. The machines are strapped to an inside wall of the truck to ensure a safe journey.

INSTALLATION & TRAINING

Installation and training are not included in the price of our reconditioned equipment – but will be quoted upon request.

Installation is available
  • By our in-house technicians.
  • By independent service technicians. We can recommend qualified technicians across the United States, and also in many other countries.
  • BWI can install RIPs via WebEx. The cost to install an EagleRIP or Harlequin RIP via WebEx on the Buyer’s computer is $250.
Training
  • Training can be usually be handled by the installer and will be included in your quote if requested.
  • BWI can provide online training for RIPs via WebEx. WebEx rates for training are $75 for the first 15 minutes, and $25 per 15 minutes thereafter.
